Spain on the raw milk map: 3,335 places, one atlas
Cantabria packs 84 raw milk spots into Spain's greenest corner — the densest region in the country. Santander alone lists 64 places. This is what the atlas sees.
The country that drinks its milk fresh
Spain is not the biggest country in the atlas. The United States is. But when I verify places point by point, Spain keeps doing something almost no one else does: it puts raw milk in vending machines on the side of the road.
The count today: 3,335 visible places in Spain selling raw milk or raw-milk products. Of those, 3,244 are listed as raw milk sellers. Every one of them checked the same way — one by one, no shortcuts.
Where the milk is
- Cantabria — 84 places. The densest corner of the country. Santander alone has 64.
- Castile and León — 163 places, the biggest regional list.
- Andalusia — 106 places, spread wide.
- Catalonia — 69. Madrid — 67.
- Aragon — 53, Asturias — 42, Valencian Community — 60.
The pattern is old and it shows: green north, hungry south. Where the rain falls, the cows are. Where the cities are, the vending machines are.
What the tiers tell you
Not every pin on the map is equal, and I refuse to pretend otherwise.
- GOLD (115 in Spain) — confirmed by trusted directories and point-by-point verification. Go.
- SILVER (108) — audited automatically: it exists, it's open, the category checks out.
- BRONZE (3,112) — not yet audited. Call before you drive.
That bronze number is not a defect. It's the honest state of the map: a country with thousands of farms, checked one at a time.
The atlas keeps counting
This is not a closed list. Spain's legal framework allows direct farm sales of raw milk, and new puntos de venta appear every season. When a farm opens a dispenser, the atlas wants to know.
Open the Spain page, filter by your region, check the tier, and go meet the person who milks the cow.
